On Friday, Mason and I drove down and met up with our friend Bekah in Savannah for a free Grace Potter & the Nocturnals concert.

Grace Potter is excellent in concert. There’s nothing worse than seeing a band perform and seeing the lack of excitement in the band member’s faces. But Grace Potter & the Nocturnals seemed really excited about being there.

The drummer had a fan blowing in his hair for a little added drama. It’s amazing how little hilarious touches can add so much to a performance.

Needless to say, I highly recommend that everyone go to a Grace Potter concert. So much energy, so much fun.

Now that my pointless musical opinion has been made public, I’ll add that I made it in and out of Savannah on a mere $5. A slice of pizza and a little taffy from River Street Sweets.

If you ever plan a trip to Savannah, do it smart. Talk to the locals, find free parking, find cheap (delicious) food, and enjoy the amazing scenery.

Our sight during the ride home was so pretty. So so pretty.

Guess where I’m heading tomorrow… free Grace Potter concert in Savannah. I’m so excited that I’m going to be really annoying and say the following: woot, woot.

The above are various pictures from the day. An awkward profile taken at work to hang up on our mugshot wall // My delicious tomato sandwich for lunch (are these just a southern thing?) // CDs that made the cut for the road trip tomorrow.

The plants have found their new home… and they’ve reunited with the cacti.

In similar news, I am back at school. And there’s a beautiful storm coming.

I made some sticky buns with my guy tonight. We almost burned the house down…but they were well worth it.

Recipe soon…

In 1995, the peach became the official fruit of my home state. Just a little pointless information for you.

I made this peach galette for lunch today, and consumed it all. No shame. It’s really easy and so cute.

If you want to make the Peach Galette:

What you’ll need:

2 peaches, pitted and sliced

1 tablespoon of brown sugar

1 tablespoon of flour

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

1 tablespoon butter, melted

your favorite pie crust recipe

1 egg, whisked

What you’ll need to do:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Roll out pie crust into the shape of a circle on lightly floured surface. Pit and slice the peaches. Combine with brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and butter in a bowl. Lay peach slices on pie crust, fanning out in a circle. Fold up the pie crust, overlapping the edges with each fold. Brush with whisked egg. Bake for 15 minutes or until crust has browned.

Plants, plants, everywhere. Between me, Mason, and my dad, we have twelve tomato plants. I don’t know how one could possibly eat as many tomatoes as we’ll end up having.

Summer classes start back next week, so I’m re-watching Star Wars to end my lazy time with something worthwhile.

I’m really scared about moving my patio tomato plant inside with me next week when I move back to my apartment. Fingers crossed.

I’m in love, I’m in love, and I don’t care who knows it! I have such a hard time picking out folders for classes. It’s something that you have to look at every single day.

But I recently stumbled upon an Etsy shop, Subtle Acts, that has the coolest journals. The Virginia Woolf journal will be accompanying me everywhere next semester.

Everyone has their favorite notebook or favorite pen though, right? I can’t be the only person who gets obsessed with these details.
